Activities at Reading Club @ BT

ACTIVITIES AT READING CLUB @ BT

Many of us believe that with globalisation and the resulting affluence, it is imperative to inculcate the value of hard work, perseverance, respect and other desirable character traits in our children. For the month of March, join us as Reading Club @ BT features activities tailored to introduce several character building traditional values to young children:

WHAT EVERY CHILD MUST KNOW

1 MAR 2008 - THREE LITTLE WOLVES AND A BIG BAD PIG (4 PM)

Children work together in sorting/ grouping activities after the story-reading, and realise that teamwork is essential for the successful completion of tasks.
For 30 children, 2 to 6 years.

5 MAR 2008 - THE POLITE ELEPHANT (10 AM)

If everyone uses the words "Please", "Thank you", "Sorry" more often, we will be a much more gracious society. Learn about the importance of manners with the well loved children's author Richard Scarry.
For 30 children, 2 to 6 years.

5 MAR 2008 - THE RABBIT AND TORTOISE (3 PM)

Hear about the disastrous consequences of being over-confident and arrogant. Nothing beats a good dose of hard work and perseverance. Children can look forward to dramatisation and video screenings.
For 30 children, 2 to 6 years.

8 MAR 2008 - GINGERBREAD MAN (4PM)

Do you wish your child takes you more seriously when you tell them not to talk to strangers? In this session, children see the consequence of trust being misplaced, and are reminded to exercise caution. Role-playing and activity worksheets reinforce this important message.
For 30 children, 2 to 6 years.

12 MAR 2008 - CRY WOLF (3 PM)

This well-known story of a boy who loves to lie serves as a grim reminder of the importance of being honest. Role-playing activities will bring the story to life and colouring activities will also be conducted.
For 30 children, 2 to 6 years.

Please register early for the sessions as availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
